Bob Burg has written several books all well worth reading. Among his most popular are: “The Go Givers”, and soon to be published (February 18, 2010) “The Go Givers Sell More.”

If you are in business these books are a “must have” for your library.

I had the privilege of listening to Bob Burg a few nights ago on a conference call that was full of gold nuggets.

Here are three of my favorite gold nuggets mentioned by Bob Burg (and paraphrased and expounded on by me).

These gold nuggets describe who Go Givers are:

1. Your income relates to the number of people to who’s lives you add value.

• Are you focused on adding value to people’s lives? (Go-Giver)

or

• Are you focused on making money? (Go-Taker)

The more you focus on adding value to people’s lives, the more you have a right to earn huge income. John Di Lemme

The more you focus on making money in business, the more problems you will have.

The more you focus on making people happy in your business, the more success you will have.

2. Giving is a way of life.
A very well known missionary to Mexico, Wayne Myers, used to say “I live to give”.

When your core value is to life to give, you cannot help but receive.

There are laws in this universe that work whether you believe them or not.

For example: The law of gravity.
No one would dare to go against the law of gravity. (If you jump off a cliff go will definitely go down, never up).

There is another very important law and that is the law of sowing and reaping, which is “whatever you sow, you will reap”.

This law starts in the garden. There is no way you can expect to harvest tomatoes if you sow pumpkin seeds. In the same way if you try to build a business by seeking to “get”, others will also get from you! If you build your life and business by giving, others will give to you. This law cannot fail.

3. Find out what people REALLY want and give it to them.
If you REALLY focus on giving people what they want you can’t help but be successful.

The central key is to genuinely focus on adding value to other people’s lives
– and success will follow you all through your life.
